It was just confirmed that Kwagga van Niekerk will be released by the Golden Lions Rugby Union, after a medical evaluation to join the u/20 Scotland Squad for the upcoming Six Nations Championship.
Kwagga will leave on Saturday to join the squad and will return on the 16th March to rejoin the Lions. He will then leave again for Scotland to join their u/20 World Cup Squad for preparations for the u/20 World Cup hosted in Argentina in June.
Scotland will play in group Pool C which also includes South Africa, New Zealand and Georgia. Will, this decision of the South African selectors to not select Kwagga come to haunt them? I do not think South Africa will lose the game against Scotland but questionable selections will definately be shown up by Kwagga.
